Malaysian football not free of corruption says national agency

Malaysian fans deserve to have domestic leagues free of corruption of all kinds.

Malaysian football needs to work harder to ensure the integrity of the sport, according to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), the government agency in charge of investigating and prosecuting dishonest practices in the game.

"Corruption involving local footballers is still prevalent in the country," said MACC deputy chief commissioner Datuk Azam Baki.

"We are still encountering cases involving corruption among footballers, but it is not so easy to prosecute someone without any concrete...

Coach V. Sundramoorthy was delighted by Singapore's resolve despite a heavy injury count in Bahrain.

Singapore got their 2019 AFC Asian Cup qualification third round campaign off to a positive start on Tuesday night by holding Bahrain to a 0-0 draw at the Bahrain National Stadium in Riffa.
