Pogba's brace in United's Manchester derby comeback tops Power Rankings

Shaka Hislop says Manchester United would still be in the title race if Jose Mourinho always took the reins off Paul Pogba like he did in the second half against Man City.

ESPN FC's global editorial desks nominate their top weekend performers. Paul Pogba's role in United's Manchester derby comeback tops our list.

1. Paul Pogba | Manchester United

Why he's here: Pogba scored a pair of goals two minutes apart to erase Manchester City's 2-0 half-time lead and set United on their way to a 3-2 comeback win in the derby.

2. Lionel Messi | Barcelona

Why he's here: Messi's hat trick in Barca's 3-1 win over Leganes extended the club's La Liga unbeaten run to beyond a year, and put him six goal clear of Cristiano Ronaldo in the Pichichi race.

3. Memphis Depay | Lyon

Why he's here: It came against lowly Metz (bottom of the Ligue 1 table), but Memphis' goal and four assists was impressive nevertheless as Lyon won 5-0 on Sunday.

4. Paulo Dybala | Juventus

Why he's here: Two of his goals came from the penalty spot, but Dybala's hat trick carried Juventus to a 4-2 win over Benevento on Sunday.

5. Iago Aspas | Celta Vigo

Why he's here: Celta hosted Sevilla on Saturday and earned a 4-0 win, thanks to a hat trick from Aspas.

Paul Pogba scored twice as Manchecster United overturned a 2-0 half-time deficit to win the Manchester derby 3-2.

6. Christian Eriksen | Tottenham

Why he's here: Eriksen scored both goals in Spurs' hard-fought 2-1 win at Stoke on Saturday.

7. Danny Welbeck | Arsenal

Why he's here: He scored twice but should have grabbed a hat trick as Arsenal came from behind to beat Southampton 3-2 on Sunday.

8. James Rodriguez | Bayern Munich

Why he's here: Bayern won their sixth straight Bundesliga title on Sunday with a 4-1 win over Augsburg on Saturday, with James contributing a goal and an assist.

9. Javier Hernandez | West Ham

Why he's here: "Chicharito" came off the bench with 20 minutes remaining; three minutes later he'd tied the score at 1-1 to give the Hammers a point from their trip to Chelsea.

10. Antoine Griezmann | Atletico Madrid

Why he's here: Four minutes after Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring in the Madrid derbi, Griezmann answered back to earn Atletico a point in a 1-1 draw at the Bernabeu on Sunday.

Also receiving votes: Salvatore Sirigu (Torino).
