Salah leads trio of four-goal phenoms to top Player Power Rankings
ESPN FC's global editorial desks nominate their top weekend performers. Mohamed Salah leads a trio of four-goal heroes in this week's top 10.
1. Mohamed Salah | Liverpool
Why he's here: Salah was one of three four-goal performers from the weekend, his heroics in Liverpool's 5-0 win over Watford on Saturday taking the Egypt international four goals clear atop the Premier League scoring charts.
2. Cristiano Ronaldo | Real Madrid
Why he's here: The second of the weekend's four-goal phenomenons, Ronaldo added an assist to his tally in Madrid's 6-3 win over Girona on Saturday. He's been held off the score sheet just once in his past 11 matches, racking up 21 goals and four assists in that span.
3. Mauro Icardi | Inter Milan
Why he's here: The last of the four-goal trio, Icardi accomplished his feat in Inter's 5-0 win at Sampdoria on Sunday, bringing him to within two goals of Ciro Immobile at the top of Serie A's scoring chart.
4. Naby Keita | RB Leipzing
Why he's here: The 22-year-old midfielder bound for Liverpool scored one and assisted on another as RB Leipzig upset Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich 2-1 on Saturday, bringing the Red Bull-backed club to within two points of a Champions League place.
5. Josip Ilicic | Atalanta
Why he's here: Outshone by the abundance of four-goal hauls this weekend, Ilicic bagged a hat trick as Atalanta stormed to a 5-0 win at Hellas Verona on Sunday.
6. Christian Eriksen | Tottenham
Why he's here: Eriksen scored twice, was at the heart of all of Spurs' most dangerous moves forward, and was cruelly denied a hat trick by the goalkeeper's fingertips and the woodwork in a 3-0 win at Swansea on Saturday.
7. Enes Unal | Villarreal
Why he's here: The 20-year-old Turkey international scored both goals as Villarreal upset Atletico Madrid 2-1 on Sunday.
8. Nemanja Matic | Manchester United
Why he's here: A goal and an assist from Matic made him the sole United player to be spared in Jose Mourinho's berating of his own team following a 2-0 win over Brighton on Saturday.
9. Cenk Tosun | Everton
Why he's here: Tosun bagged his first brace since joining Everton in January in the Toffees' 2-1 win at Stoke Saturday -- his fourth goal in his past three appearances.
10. Cristhian Stuani | Girona
Why he's here: Stuani was on the losing end of Girona's trip the Bernabeu, but the Uruguayan embodied their ambition with a pair of goals in Sunday's loss in Madrid.
Also receiving votes: Simone Zaza (Valencia), Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Memphis Depay (Lyon), Ishak Belfodil (Werder Bremen).
