Bet on Manchester City to win at Liverpool this weekend
Tottenham's defeat to Barcelona and Bayern Munich falling to overcome Ajax cost us in midweek, but we get another shot at redemption this weekend with another round of top-flight fixtures, including Liverpool's crunch clash with Manchester City.
Running total: -£21.75
It's a game that should give some kind of indicator about the Premier League title race. Ante-post betting favourites Liverpool and Manchester City collide at Anfield. The Reds will be confident given they are undefeated in their last 15 home Premier League matches against City, but it's hard to overlook the champions here at an enticing 17/10. Liverpool were poor in losing to Napoli while Manchester City fully deserved their 2-1 victory at Hoffenheim, and have the added advantage of an additional 24 hours rest. With David Silva pulling the strings in midfield and Sergio Aguero in such a rich vein of form up top, the shout here is to back City to put the rest of the league on notice by winning on Merseyside.
Selection: £5 on Manchester City to win at 17/10 with bet365.
The Tasty Treble
After an indifferent start, Arsenal (13/20) are now flying under Unai Emery and can cruise past Fulham on Sunday. The Gunners are scoring plenty of goals and can be trusted to show their class at Craven Cottage. In form Chelsea (3/5) have won each of their last three trips to St Mary's and look a good bet to beat Southampton. The Saints have picked up just one win this season and look set for a tough winter. Finally, Wolves look interesting at 7/4 against Crystal Palace. The Eagles have failed to score in any of their three home Premier League matches so far while Wolves have been excellent on the road. The treble comes in at over 6/1 with bet365 and has every chance.
Selection: £3 on the treble at 6.26/1 with bet365.
The First Goal Flutter
Erik Lamela has scored four goals in six outings for Spurs this season and is starting to return to top form. He was excellent against Barcelona, working tirelessly in midfield and the Argentine looks tempting at 6/1 to score first against Cardiff.
Selection: £1 on Lamela to score first at 6/1 with bet365.
The Euro Wager
Bayern Munich are two games without a win in the Bundesliga, and truth be told should have lost at home to Ajax in the Champions League on Tuesday. Something is clearly amiss with the Bavarian giants at the minute and they have looked particularly vulnerable at the back. Borussia Monchengladbach are a good side and may actually be overpriced at 12/1 to spring a shock at the Allianz Arena. At the very least we can see Gladbach -- who have scored in each of their last six -- getting on the scoreboard in Munich.
Selection: £4 on both teams to score at 3/4 with bet365.
The Wildcard Tip
Newcastle have not won at Manchester United since 2013 but have every chance of springing a shock this weekend. There are just so many question marks surrounding Jose Mourinho's side at this time that an away win cannot be ruled out. Consistently poor defending, an inability to create chances and a lack of effort collectively when opponents have the ball suggest the Red Devils should not be 2/5 shots here.
Selection: £2 on Newcastle to win (draw no bet) at 9/2 with bet365.
