Belgium cancel second training session after Brussels explosions

The Belgium national team have called off a second training session in the wake of the terror attacks that killed at least 31 people in Brussels on Tuesday.

The Royal Belgian Football Federation (KBVB) took the decision to cancel Tuesday's session ahead of the friendly with Portugal at the King Baudouin Stadium on March 29, posting on Twitter that "football is not important today" and that their thoughts were with the victims.

And Wednesday saw another planned session in the morning cancelled, though Reuters report that they are considering a short session in the afternoon.

"We had been in contact with the Portuguese for much of Tuesday and consulted several different security authorities, although understandably they have been absorbed with more urgent matters," a statement from the KBVB said. "We will attempt to give more information as quickly as we can."

Reports in the Belgian press claim that coach Marc Wilmots and his players are keen to go ahead with the game, and rejected a proposal to move it to Portugal.
