Monaco have announced they have made an offer to buy a majority stake in Belgian First Division B club Cercle Brugge.

The move forms part of Monaco's development strategy in bringing young talent to the Ligue 1 club.

A statement on Monaco's official website said: "AS Monaco FC confirms that it has made an offer (subject to certain conditions) to purchase a majority stake in the club Cercle Brugge KSV, who play in Belgium's Ligue 1B.

Kevin De Bruyne joined Manchester City from Wolfsburg in August 2015.

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne was voted the Best Belgian Player in a Foreign League for 2016 ahead of Chelsea's Eden Hazard and Atletico Madrid's Yannick Carrasco.

Bayer Leverkusen have completed the signing of Leon Bailey from Genk, with the Jamaica international penning a contract through to 2022.

Having been linked with a host of European clubs including Manchester United following a series of good performances for Genk in Europa League this term, Bailey, 19, sealed his switch to Leverkusen on Tuesday.

Bayer Leverkusen coach Roger Schmidt has confirmed that Leon Bailey is undergoing a medical with the club ahead of his move from Genk.

Bailey, 19, has been linked with a host of European clubs, including Manchester United, after scoring four goals in six Europa League appearances for his side this term.

Schmidt revealed earlier this week that Leverkusen were interested in signing the Jamaican, and he has now said that the German club are closing in on a move for the Genk winger.
