Carlo Ancelotti echoes Jose Mourinho's support for Claudio Ranieri

Bayern Munich coach Carlo Ancelotti said he agreed with Jose Mourinho after the Manchester United manager voiced his support for Claudio Ranieri.

Ranieri was sacked by Leicester City on Thursday night, nine months after leading them to the most improbable of Premier League wins.

In a post on Instagram, Mourinho wrote: "That's the new football, Claudio. Nobody can delete the history you wrote."

And speaking at a news conference, Ancelotti voiced his amazement at Leicester's decision.

He told reporters: "I agree totally with Jose. I'm not used to agreeing with Jose, but in this case I do. Well done, Jose.

"What can I say? Everyone is surprised about this, but being sacked as a trainer is part of the job. I've been sacked many times, at Chelsea and Real Madrid.

"Leicester have to say thanks for everything he did. He made history. What he did there will help him find another club and to find another emotion -- maybe to be sacked again.

"We know this is part of our job as a trainer. When the club has problems, they cannot sack 20 players. In football, the players get credit when things are good, when things are wrong, the only guilty one is the manager.

"But we know this and we are paid for this."

Ancelotti will celebrate the 1,000th game of his coaching career against Hamburg on Saturday.

Recalling his earliest days as a coach in Italy, he said: "I remember all the games that I was on the bench.

"The first time was Aug. 27, 1995, in the second division in Italy -- Reggiana v Palermo, a 0-0.

"I was worried then, and I still get worried and excited before each game. I am nervous about the strategy, and my heart rate is at 120 like an aerobic session.

"That is the excitement of this job, and I'm really happy to be still be here ahead of my 1000th game."
