No DFB action against Carlo Ancelotti over Hertha fan incident - Bayern

Bayern Munich coach Carlo Ancelotti will not face disciplinary action after making an obscene gesture to Hertha Berlin fans on Saturday, the German champions have said.

Ancelotti, who had accused the fans of spitting at him after the 1-1 draw in the German capital, apologised for his actions.

The incident happened as he went down the tunnel towards the dressing rooms and the 57-year-old admitted making the gesture.

The German FA (DFB) asked him to explain his actions, but Bayern said on Tuesday the matter was closed after Ancelotti agreed to make a donation to charity by way of apology.

"We regard Carlo Ancelotti's gesture in response to being spat at as an understandable emotional reaction," Bayern said in a statement.

"The DFB panel has accepted this position and will cease its inquiry. However, as an apology for his gesture Carlo Ancelotti will make a donation of €5,000 to the DFB Foundation."
