Deputy chairman Jan-Christian Dreesen addressed the figures at Bayern's annual general meeting.

"The 2015-16 fiscal year has been fantastic for Bayern, in terms of both sports and finances. Our members, staff and friends of the club can be very proud," he said.

"Bayern are in outstanding shape, operating at the highest Champions League level in financial terms. We are in a superb position. That has been the case for the last few years, and that is more than ever true for 2016.

"Our entrepreneurial objective is the maximisation of sporting success alongside financial prudence. Our increasing financial power will be used primarily to make the regular investments required in our first-team squad in order to ensure we remain competitive among the elite teams in Europe."

Sponsorship and marketing proivided the biggest revenue source for Bayern at €169.8m, followed by merchandising at €108.2m, TV rights at €83.4, and a , a transfer surplus of €34.8m.

The news comes on the same day as the expected return of Uli Hoeness as president of the club, and earlier former manager Pep Guardiola branded him the "life and soul" of the Bundesliga club.

The 64-year-old is the only candidate for election on Friday and is therefore set to replace Karl Hopfner, who has filled the role since Hoeness was imprisoned for tax evasion in March 2014.

Before he went behind bars for just over half of a three-year term, he had been instrumental in attracting Guardiola to his club, and the Catalan coach says he felt from the first time he met Hoeness that he wanted to work for him.

"There was a really special feeling with Uli," Guardiola told the Suddeutsche Zeitung newspaper. "Uli is the life and soul of Bayern Munich. He's just a genuine, sincere, warm-hearted and professional guy who is loved and popular.

"You just need to look at the way he is treated at the Sabener Strasse [headquarters] to realise how incredibly much the people love him there, just like I do. I like him. I really like him a lot."

Hoeness spent just under two years in prison, coinciding with Guardiola's time in charge of the Bundesliga champions.

"I really regret that, given the conditions, we didn't have the contact that I had hoped for and wanted during my time at Bayern," Guardiola said. "I regret it because he really embodies everything that Bayern are.

"He hasn't been to visit me in Manchester yet, even though he promised me he would. But I know that he will come because Uli is a man who keeps his word.

"I'm very happy to see Uli returning, if only because I know that if he were just to stay at home, he would be tearing all the furniture apart."
