Mats Hummels: Carlo Ancelotti wants to see more from Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich defender Mats Hummels has said boss Carlo Ancelotti is demanding "more commitment" from his players as they bid to end a three-game run without a win at home to PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Bayern began the season with eight straight wins in all competitions but are now without a win in three games and suffered their first defeat of the season at Atletico Madrid in their last European match.

The Bundesliga champions have drawn their last two league games, twice letting a lead slip in a 2-2 result at 10-man Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.

That incurred the wrath of the coach, and Germany international Hummels told a news conference: "Carlo Ancelotti has demanded more commitment.

"We can't be happy with our performances over the last few games. We noticed the intensity had slacked off in training and we've already shown a reaction by upping our levels.

"There's been a whole lot more energy, and I think Ancelotti will be pleased with how we've really got stuck in the last couple of days."

Hummels, signed in the summer from Borussia Dortmund, said Bayern stars had vowed to stop the rot after a few harsh words from Ancelotti.

"Yes he's a nice guy, but not always," he added. "He was very unhappy about the way we played [against Frankfurt] on Saturday and rightly laid into us at half-time.

"The team had a chat directly after the game. We agreed that that we have lots of potential to improve and we want to immediately show that tomorrow.

"We can't be happy when we play like we have done recently, and will only be pleased when we reach our absolute maximum potential."
