Franck Ribery: New Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti trusts me

Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery says he feels trusted again now that Carlo Ancelotti has replaced Pep Guardiola as manager.

Ribery, 33, saw his relationship with Guardiola suffer as injury problems restricted him to only 15 starts in the Bundesliga over the past two seasons.

And the former France international has given a not-so-subtle hint that he is now enjoying life at Bayern more than he did under Guardiola, telling kicker that Ancelotti's style was similar to pre-Guardiola Bayern coaches Jupp Heynckes and Ottmar Hitzfield.

"Under Ancelotti I finally feel trusted again," Ribery said. "He's a great coach.

"I need people like him, Jupp Heynckes or Ottmar Hitzfeld."

Ribery scored in a weekend friendly win over regional side Landshut after getting through 45 minutes in the 1-0 victory over Guardiola's Manchester City side.

And the former Marseille player believes he is already benefiting from Ancelotti's approach.

"You don't need to teach me about football anymore," Ribery said. "It comes down to things like trust, respect and closeness -- then I can give not only 100 percent but 150 percent.

"With Ancelotti we can achieve great things," he said.

Earlier this year Ribery revealed that Ancelotti had wanted to sign him when the Italian was manager of Chelsea in 2009.
