Bayern Munich have confirmed that Javi Martinez is set to be out for around four weeks after undergoing surgery on his left knee.
Martinez had announced on his Twitter account that the injury, which affected the same knee in which he suffered an ACL tear in 2014, was "not serious."
However, he is set to be sidelined for the rest of the month and is due to miss games including the Champions League round-of-16 first leg away to Juventus on Feb. 23 as well as the Bundesliga match away to Wolfsburg on Feb. 27.

The German champions confirmed on their official website that Martinez had suffered minor meniscus damage, which had been repaired during the operation.
Bayern have also lost Jerome Boateng to a long-term groin injury while Medhi Benatia remains unavailable, which left Pep Guardiola short on central defensive options and prompted the loan signing of Serdar Tasci from Spartak Moscow.
Holger Badstuber was otherwise the only established centre-back available to Guardiola, who has used holding midfielders Xabi Alonso and Joshua Kimmich in the position, while David Alaba has said he is willing to fill in for Boateng despite preferring a more advanced role.
