Manuel Neuer: Bayern Munich not looking to do Arsenal any favours

Manuel Neuer says Bayern Munich will give their all to beat Olympiakos in the Champions League on Tuesday -- but not because they want to help out Arsenal.

Bayern currently sit top of Group F and a draw against the Greek side would see them qualify for the last 16 of the competition, while victory would secure first place in the standings.

Arsenal, however, are in a much more precarious position, needing to see off Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday, while hoping Bayern defeat Olympiakos, before then having to beat the Greek side themselves by at least two goals or by a score of 4-3 or higher in their final group game next month.

But while Bayern have high hopes of emerging victorious against Olympiakos, Neuer says they are not looking to do the Gunners a favour.

"We're aware of the explosive nature for the players of Arsenal," Neuer told a news conference. "We will give it our all to win the match. But not to help Arsenal, rather because we want to win the match."

Bayern coach Pep Guardiola, meanwhile, warned that it will not be a walk-over for his side when they face the Greek champions at the Allianz Arena.

"They're very good in defence, leave very little space between the lines and have four quick wingers," the Catalan said in a news conference. "It's a final tomorrow. We're fighting for first place."

Guardiola added: "It's one of the most important matches so far this season."
