Bayern Munich 'too strong' for Bundesliga - Wolfsburg's Hecking

Wolfsburg, Germany -- Pep Guardiola has praised his Bayern Munich side after the convincing 3-1 win at VfL Wolfsburg in the DFB Pokal Cup.

"It never gets boring," Guardiola said. His Wolves counterpart Dieter Hecking shrugged his shoulders and said: "Right now, Bayern are too strong for the league."

Bayern's easy win came at a sold-out Volkswagen Arena on Tuesday night, and eliminated holders Wolfsburg from the competition in the second round. A brace by Thomas Muller and a goal by Douglas Costa secured the half-time lead.

Former Chelsea attacker Andre Schurrle, who only came off the bench, scored the consolation goal in the final minute.

"We played a very good first half. Were very good when in possession, didn't lose too many balls, and recovered those balls after three, four seconds. We allowed Wolfsburg no time to think," Guardiola told the post-match news conference. "We are very, very satisfied. We can stay in the cup. Today was very important for us."

Guardiola played summer signing Douglas Costa in a central role, and the Brazilian paid back with an outstanding performance and the first goal of the night. On the left wing, Kingsley Coman formed an irresistible partnership with David Alaba. Having suffered a knock, the French youngster was later replaced by Arjen Robben.

"We need players like Coman, Franck [Ribery], Arjen [Robben] and Douglas Costa," Guardiola said. "They go into the direct duels. You can either do that on the wing or in the middle. Today, we wanted to attack Dante."

Guardiola especially singled out Coman and called the 19-year-old a "typical, typical attacker", who is fast and also works a lot in defense. "He's got a quality. He is very important for us. With Douglas, Arjen and Coman we are able to add width to our game. Coman has done an incredible job so far."

Bayern have now won all 12 games they have played domestically this season. They are runaway leaders in Bundesliga, and the annual debate whether Bayern's dominance is making German football boring has already begun, but Guardiola said that it's not that easy.

The Catalan commented: "To win, win, win. That's the most difficult thing in football, in all sports. It's not easy, and it is not boring."
