Manuel Neuer doesn't care if Bayern Munich make the Bundesliga boring

Manuel Neuer says he and his Bayern Munich teammates do not care if the Bundesliga is becoming boring because they are so dominant.

The defending German champions are already seven points clear at the top after only eight games following their 5-1 thrashing of nearest rivals Borussia Dortmund.

Bayern staff insisted after Sunday's win that the title race is not already over for another year.

Many observers would suggest otherwise considering that Bayern also beat last year's runners-up Wolfsburg 5-1 during their run of eight wins in a row to start the season.

Neuer, 29, says such talk is ultimately of little relevance to the players as Bayern will continue to pursue their targets regardless of how their competition fares.

"As players at Bayern, we're not interested in any boredom -- we're interested in picking up three points each game," the Bayern goalkeeper told kicker.

"We've got a possible record in front of us as the first team to become German champions four times in a row. That's our goal."

The Bundesliga was all Bayern won last season. Pep Guardiola's side fell to Borussia Dortmund in the DFB Pokal semifinals and lost 5-3 on aggregate to eventual champions Barcelona in the last four of the Champions League.

Having won the Treble two years ago, some fans would be unsatisfied with winning only one trophy but Neuer maintains that the players would share that opinion.

"We ourselves aren't [satisfied] either," he said. "Just this week I spoke with [Thomas] Muller about our exit against Barcelona last year, so something remains in our minds. The Treble would obviously be the ultimate for us."
