Bayern Munich captain Philipp Lahm: Being substituted not an issue

Philipp Lahm has told kicker he has "absolutely no problem" with being substituted despite the Bayern Munich captain failing to complete the full 90 minutes in 12 of his last 18 games.

Former Germany international Lahm, 31, has struggled to recover his best form since fracturing his ankle in November last year and has been taken off in all three games for Bayern so far this season.

Bayern boss Pep Guardiola warned his players at the start of the season that they would have to accept rotation, though, and Lahm -- who had long been established as a mainstay of the side -- said he had no issue with his current status.

"That's absolutely no problem for me," Lahm said. "I have played in every match, and that's why it's not an issue. It's not that bad."

Meanwhile, it remains unclear when Bayern winger Franck Ribery will return to team training.

The 32-year-old has been sidelined with ankle problems since March, and told kicker that the injury continue to trouble him.

"I do everything, really everything, that I am told, but the pain just won't go away," the former France international said. "You just don't know how difficult it is for me mentally. It's tough. The situation bothers me."

Ribery said he is to undergo "an important check-up" on Friday, when he hopes to gain a clearer picture of when he is likely to return to training.
