Bayern to face Valencia and Inter on tour of China in July

Bayern Munich have announced a preseason tour of China this July.

The German champions will take on Valencia, Inter Milan and Guangzhou Evergrande on their eight-day trip to the up-and-coming football market.

Bayern, who toured the U.S. last summer, will embark on their China tour on July 16 and visit Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, the club announced on Thursday.

"Every big team does those tours these days. We have to do it. And we will do it. The training conditions are very good, I hear," manager Pep Guardiola said in a news conference.

"Bayern organized the trip to the States very well last year. If the club tells me that we have to travel to Australia the year after, we will do it."

The games against Valencia in Beijing, Inter Milan in Shanghai and local club and 2013 Asia Champions League winners Evergrande in Guangzhou are all "still subject to formal approval by authorities," Bayern said on their official website.

"FC Bayern have nearly 90 million followers in China, who will have the opportunity to see one of the best teams in the world right up close during the tour," said Bayern board memmbe Jorg Wacker.

He called the summer tour "another further step in our international orientation, where the clear focus is on the USA and China."

Bayern Munich will not be the only German club trying to leave their footprints on the Asian market. Borussia Dortmund have already announced a summer tour of Asia, with stops in Malaysia, Singapore and Japan.
