Bayern to wait on Robert Lewandowski fitness to face Barcelona

Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola says he will not know until shortly before Wednesday's match whether Robert Lewandowski will play against Barcelona in the Champions League semifinals.

Lewandowski suffered a concussion and facial fractures in Bayern's DFB-Pokal semifinal defeat on Tuesday when he collided with Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Mitch Langerak.

"We will see his condition on Monday, Tuesday," Guardiola said of his striker, adding that "the doctor is the chief."

Against Dortmund, Bayern also lost winger Arjen Robben for the season with a calf injury, but Thiago Alcantara will be fit to play after suffering a knock.

Franck Ribery is still nursing an ankle injury he suffered in March.

Before facing Barcelona, Bayern play at Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga on Saturday, but with the domestic title already secured, Guardiola indicated he would heavily rotate his squad.

"Bundesliga is over," the manager said.
