Bayern Munich are looking to accelerate into a 14 point lead at the top of the table when they resume their Bundesliga campaign against Wolfsburg on Friday. (2:24)

Bayern Munich have rejected reports that coach Pep Guardiola and sporting director Matthias Sammer were involved in an argument, amid speculation that the Catalan may not sign a new deal with the Bundesliga champions.

Sky Deutschland claimed on Monday that Guardiola and Sammer clashed at Bayern's training ground, exchanging "X-rated arguments in English [while discussing] the last three months."

The TV broadcaster reported the incident just as Bild and Suddeutsche Zeitung stated recent Guardiola comments could be an indicator that the coach's time at the club might be coming to an end this summer.

On Monday afternoon, however, Bayern published a statement on their official website which rejected talk of an argument.

"'Trouble's brewing at FC Bayern!' 'Altercation!' 'FC Bayern spat!' -- the online outlets went head over heels midday on Monday," the statement read. "They referred to a Sky report, which claimed to have spied upon an argument in the dressing room 'between [probably] Matthias Sammer and most certainly Pep Guardiola,' so was the direct quote of the reporter."

The statement added: "Matthias Sammer, now get things straight: 'This claim is totally wrong. And that's why we show Sky the dark yellow card.'"

Guardiola was also quoted by Bild as saying: "I don't know what people are on about. We had a quiet training session."
