Thomas Muller: Bayern Munich training often tougher than Bundesliga

Thomas Muller believes that beating Bayern Munich's training team is sometimes more difficult than taking all three points against other Bundesliga sides.

Bayern have stormed to their last two Bundesliga titles, winning the 2012-13 championship with 91 out of a possible 102 points and a 25-point lead on Borussia Dortmund, and last season collected just one point less, with a 19-point gap to runners-up BVB.

Halfway through the current campaign, Bayern already hold a 11-point lead on second-placed Wolfsburg, and could increase the gap to 14 by beating Die Wolfe in the opening match of the second half of the season on Jan. 30.

"It's often more difficult to win against our training team than maybe against a team in the Bundesliga," Muller told reporters at Bayern's winter training camp in Qatar on Thursday.

The Germany international said that the second half of the season "will not be about getting better results, as we were nearly perfect, but rather about scoring easier goals and to have even less insecurities in our game."

Muller played in 22 of Bayern's 25 competitive matches during the first half of the season, contributing 11 goals and a further nine assists to his side's dominance of the Bundesliga and Champions League, in which he missed the club's sole defeat at Manchester City.

Bayern have mostly been seen training with the ball in Qatar, with the players and coach Pep Guardiola seemingly enjoying themselves.

When asked about the intensity of the training sessions, Muller said: "It would not be a positive signal if you were to throw up. I am not a doctor, but I don't buy into the concept of vomiting."

However, Muller explained that the training camp was exhausting enough, both mentally and physically, adding: "Pep stresses the use of the head very much, and not only when training headers."
