Bayer Leverkusen's Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez out vs. Darmstadt - reports

Mexico international Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez is set to miss Bayer Leverkusen's match at bottom club Darmstadt on Wednesday, according to reports.

Hernandez, 28, has struggled with thigh problems, and missed the 3-3 draw with Wolfsburg on Sunday.

Rheinische Post and kicker both report that the striker will not be at Leverkusen head coach Tayfun Korkut's disposal against Darmstadt due to a muscular problem.

Korkut said of Hernandez and defender Jonathan Tah ahead of their match with Darmstadt: "We'll have to wait for the final training session before we make a decision."

Hernandez levelled Jared Borgetti as Mexico's all-time goal scorer last month, but left the field in the 66th minute of the 2-0 victory over Costa Rica with a sore thigh.

Leverkusen are currently 12th in the Bundesliga, only three points ahead of Augsburg, who are in the relegation playoff place.

But Korkut told his prematch news conference: "As long as we still see can see the light at the top, we will not stare into the darkness."
