Wojciech Szczesny: I learnt more in 4 months at Roma than at Arsenal

Wojciech Szczesny says he learnt more in the last four months at Roma than he did in 10 years at Arsenal and that he already knows where he'll be playing next season.

Szczesny, 26, spent this season in Serie A after Arsenal brought in Petr Cech as their new No. 1 goalkeeper, having already lost the starting spot to David Ospina in the second half of the previous campaign.

The Poland international has made it clear previously that he is open to remaining at Roma, where he has been the clear No. 1 since Luciano Spalletti returned as manager in January.

"I know where I will play next year, but I can't reveal it yet. If I stay at Roma, it'll be an opportunity to grow and improve even more. If I return to Arsenal, I'll make use of my experience in Italy," Szcesny was quoted as saying by Italian newspaper Il Tempo.

"I learnt more in four months under Spalletti than in 10 years in England. He puts a lot of importance on details and wants the goalkeeper to be able to play the ball with his feet."

Szczesny also said Arsenal still paid a large part of his salary this past season, with Il Tempo reporting that his loan deal could be extended if Roma agrees to pay his full wages. The goalkeeper has two years left on his Arsenal contract.
