Man City draw with Arsenal, Tottenham beaten, Liverpool victorious

Manchester City's place in next season's Champions League is out of their own hands after they could only draw 2-2 at home to Arsenal.

Manchester United now know that if they win their two remaining matches, at West Ham and at home to Bournemouth, they are guaranteed to finish ahead of their city rivals.

City were in front after only eight minutes through Sergio Aguero, the Argentine cutting in from the right and sending a fine left-footed strike inside Petr Cech's near post.

But Arsenal were level just two minutes later as Olivier Giroud was given the freedom of the penalty area, heading home an Alex Iwobi cross following a corner.

City were back in front in the 51st minute, Kevin De Bruyne going on a solo run before finding the bottom corner from the edge of the area -- though goalkeeper Petr Cech should probably have done better.

But the Gunners again hit back in the 68th minute, Giroud with the lovely layoff for Alexis Sanchez to run onto and score with ease past Hart.

Tottenham Hotspur suffered a title-race hangover as they were beaten 2-1 by Southampton at White Hart Lane.

Spurs took the lead in the 16th minute though some brilliant skill by Son Heung-Min. The South Korea international latched onto an Erik Lamela through ball, skipped around goalkeeper Fraser Forster on the goal-line and then evaded the Southampton defenders to slot into the empty net.

But Southampton were level just after the half hour, Steven Davis turning home Dusan Tadic's cross -- though Hugo Lloris may feel he should have kept out what was a tame effort.

And Davis then turned the game on its head in the 72nd minute when he grabbed his second goal. Tadic was again the provider, feeding Davis who cut inside into the D and fired into the bottom corner.

Liverpool stayed in contention to finish in the Europa League places with a 2-0 victory at home to Watford.

Manager Jurgen Klopp made several changes with the Europa League final against Sevilla in 10 days' time in mind, giving further runouts to Jon Flanagan, Lucas Leiva, Joe Allen, Jordon Ibe, Kevin Stewart, Sheyi Ojo and Christian Benteke.

But that didn't stop the Reds securing the victory to move them within a point of seventh-placed West Ham, and still two behind Southampton, moving into the final week of the season.

Allen netted the opening goal of the game, sliding to finish after a cushioned header by Benteke.

The game was wrapped up in the 76th minute as substitute Roberto Firmino netted from the edge of the box.
