Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe 'fully committed' to club amid Everton links

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has stressed his commitment to the club amid speculation that he could take over at Everton.

With the future of Roberto Martinez appearing increasingly precarious, Howe takes his team to face the Merseysiders at Goodison Park on Saturday.

Asked whether he could succeed Martinez if he were to leave, Howe told reporters: "I don't think I have to reaffirm my commitment here every week, which seems to be a regular pattern. I love it here, and I'm committed to the job.

"You've got to win games to stay in work, and I'm fully committed to this job.

"When you're a manager yourself, you have the full support and understanding of other managers.

"It's a very difficult profession and you're judged constantly every week on your results, on a lot of aspects of your job. It's very tough at this level."

On Thursday, reports suggested Martinez could be sacked in a week, with the Toffees are set to hold a meeting about his future on Friday.

The Telegraph reported that the club's new majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri and chairman Bill Kenwright were expected to attend the meeting, with former Arsenal stakeholder Moshiri said to have been concerned by recent fan discontent and the team's poor run of results.

Martinez, 42, has presided over a frustrating campaign, with his team 11th in the Premier League and having suffered a late defeat to Manchester United in the FA Cup semifinal.

He said he hoped his side's recent run of results would not be viewed in isolation and backed his record over three years at the club.
