Francesco Guidolin happy at Swansea City despite Italy talk

Swansea manager Francesco Guidolin says he is honoured to be linked with the Italy job, although he says he has "fallen in love" with the Premier League and would like to continue at the Liberty Stadium next season.

Guidolin was hired by Swansea in January amid serious relegation concerns and, although they are now 10 points clear of the relegation zone, his future remains unclear.

The 60-year-old, whose short-term contract expires at the end of the season, has been touted as a potential replacement for Italy boss Antonio Conte after Euro 2016 but he says he is keen to continue in his current role.

"It's an honour being linked with Italy and I'm leaving all my options open, but I've not heard from anybody yet," he told Italy's Fox Sports. "My contract expires in June, but I've already told the president I would like to stay to start a new season and contribute to the construction of the future squad.

"We're going to talk about it when we've secured safety. We've done well so far -- I arrived in a difficult moment. I've fallen in love with the Premier League and the atmosphere here."

Guidolin meets fellow Italian boss Claudio Ranieri on Sunday when he takes his side to league leaders Leicester.

"We've still got to secure mathematical safety, but I do hope Ranieri wins the league because he deserves it," the former Udinese coach said.
