Premier League team news: Updates on injuries and suspensions

WEDNESDAY'S MATCHES

- ARSENAL

Arsene Wenger has hinted at the possibility of making changes to his side. The Gunners go into the game on the back of damaging defeats to Barcelona and Manchester United and Wenger may look to freshen up his team. Danny Welbeck is likely to be rested, having only just come back from 10 months out, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (knee) will be out for up to eight weeks, with Jack Wilshere (leg), Santi Cazorla (knee) and Tomas Rosicky (thigh) all still missing.

Provisional squad: Cech, Ospina, Monreal, Gibbs, Koscielny, Gabriel, Mertesacker, Bellerin, Chambers, Ramsey, Elneny, Coquelin, Flamini, Ozil, Reine-Adelaide, Iwobi, Sanchez, Campbell, Walcott, Welbeck, Giroud.

- SWANSEA

Swansea have no fresh injury worries. Manager Francesco Guidolin is suffering with a chest infection but is expected to take his place in the dugout after resting following training on Tuesday morning. First-team coach Alan Curtis hinted there may be a couple of changes due to a few "bumps and bruises" to keep the squad fresh.

Provisional squad: Fabianski, Rangel, Fernandez, Williams, Taylor, Britton, Ki, Cork, Routledge, Sigurdsson, Ayew, Paloschi, Nordfeldt, Naughton, Amat, Bartley, Fer, Montero, Barrow, Gomis, Emnes, Kingsley.

- STOKE

Stoke midfielder Glenn Whelan is expected to play despite breaking his nose in Saturday's win over Aston Villa. Marc Muniesa is likely to return to the Potters defence after missing the Villa match due to a hamstring problem, while Geoff Cameron (ankle) and Phil Bardsley (calf), who were part of the back line for that game, are being assessed. Ryan Shawcross (back) is not yet ready to make his comeback, and Charlie Adam (calf), Glen Johnson and Marc Wilson (both knee) also remain sidelined.

Provisional squad: Butland, Haugaard, Wollscheid, Muniesa, Pieters, Bardsley, Cameron, Imbula, Whelan, Ireland, Afellay, Shaqiri, Walters, Arnautovic, Bojan, Joselu, Crouch, Diouf.

- NEWCASTLE

Newcastle skipper Fabricio Coloccini will miss the game through injury. Head coach Steve McClaren has confirmed that the Argentinian, along with fellow central defender Chancel Mbemba (ankle), is likely to sit out the next two games with a calf problem. However, McClaren had some better news on the fitness front after the club's 18-day break with defender Paul Dummett (hamstring), midfielders Vurnon Anita (hamstring) and Siem de Jong (eye) and strikers Papiss Cisse (groin) and Aleksandar Mitrovic (knee) all back in training, leaving keeper Tim Krul (knee), defenders Massadio Haidara (knee) and Kevin Mbabu (thigh) and midfielder Gabriel Obertan (hamstring) on the sidelines.

Provisional squad: Elliot, Darlow, Janmaat, Taylor, Lascelles, Dummett, Gibson, Tiote, Colback, Wijnaldum, Sissoko, Shelvey, Townsend, Saivet, De Jong, Anita, Gouffran, Aarons, Mitrovic, Cisse, Perez, Doumbia, Riviere.

- WEST HAM

Diafra Sakho could be added to the West Ham squad. He has been out since November with a thigh injury but is back in training and his fitness will be assessed. The Hammers are still without Winston Reid, Joey O'Brien (both hamstring), James Tomkins (calf) and Enner Valencia (ankle) while Sam Bryam is suspended for two matches.

Provisional squad: Adrian, Randolph, Collins, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Oxford, Henry, Noble, Kouyate, Song, Obiang, Moses, Lanzini, Payet, Antonio, Carroll, Emenike, Sakho, Parfitt-Williams.

- TOTTENHAM

Tottenham will make a late decision on Dele Alli's fitness after he kicked the ground during the warmup before Spurs' win over Swansea on Sunday. Tom Carroll is back after recovering from an Achilles injury but Mousa Dembele (groin), Clinton Njie (knee) and Jan Vertonghen (knee) are all out.

Provisional squad: Lloris, Vorm, Walker, Rose, Trippier, Davies, Alderweireld, Wimmer, Carter-Vickers, Winks, Dier, Mason, Carroll, Bentaleb, Alli, Eriksen, Onomah, Lamela, Son, Chadli, Kane.

- LIVERPOOL

Lucas Leiva has been ruled out with a muscle injury sustained in the Capital One Cup defeat to Manuel Pellegrini's side on Sunday. Centre-back Mamadou Sakho is also a major doubt, having been forced off in the first half with a head injury, while striker Daniel Sturridge may not be risked after playing 120 minutes at Wembley and suffering cramp. Fellow defender Martin Skrtel could return after more than two months out with a hamstring problem.

Provisional squad: Mignolet, Clyne, Toure, Skrtel, Moreno, Henderson, Can, Milner, Firmino, Coutinho, Origi, Ward, Lovren, Flanagan, Allen, Lallana, Ibe, Benteke, Sturridge, Teixeira

- MANCHESTER CITY

Yaya Toure could be doubtful after he took a blow to the foot during Sunday's Capital One Cup final victory over Liverpool and will be assessed ahead of the Premier League clash. Joe Hart is expected to return in goal after sitting out at Wembley but Kevin De Bruyne (knee), Fabian Delph (Achilles) and Samir Nasri (hamstring) remain on the sidelines.

Provisional squad: Hart, Caballero, Zabaleta, Sagna, Kompany, Otamendi, Demichelis, Mangala, Kolarov, Clichy, Toure, Fernando, Fernandinho, Silva, Sterling, Navas, Aguero, Bony, Iheanacho.

- MANCHESTER UNITED

Anthony Martial, Chris Smalling and Matteo Darmian could return. Martial (hamstring), Smalling and Darmian (both shoulder) may feature in the Premier League clash, while Marcos Rojo will be hoping to be involved after sustaining a knock in Sunday's win against Arsenal. Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, Will Keane and Antonio Valencia are out, as are Wayne Rooney, Marouane Fellaini and Phil Jones. Luke Shaw, Ashley Young and Bastian Schweinsteiger are other absentees.

Provisional squad: De Gea, Romero, Darmian, Riley, Rojo, Varela, Blind, Smalling, Poole, McNair, Fosu-Mensah, McNair, Schneiderlin, Herrera, Carrick, Lingard, Januzaj, Weir, A Pereira, Mata, Depay, Martial, Rashford.

Provisional squad: Gomes, Pantilimon, Britos, Cathcart, Paredes, Holebas, Behrami, Capoue, Watson, Ighalo, Deeney, Abdi, Nyom, Amrabat, Anya, Prodl, Guedioura, Suarez.
