Manchester United's under-21s beat rivals Manchester City U21s 1-0 to go top of the table on Thursday.
Joe Rothwell scored the game's only goal at Leigh Sports Village to secure all three points for United.
Will Keane laid on the assist for Rothwell, who thumped the ball home on 15 minutes.

The result sees United two points clear ahead of second-placed Sunderland in the table, while City are in third position, 10 points below their neighbours.
The Red Devils are next in action at home to Reading on Feb. 15 while City travel to Leicester City.
