Chelsea star Eden Hazard has reiterated his admiration for Real Madrid coach and childhood hero Zinedine Zidane amid persistent speculation of a summer move to the Bernabeu but insists he feels "very good" at Stamford Bridge.
Hazard, 25, has been plagued by poor form and injury problems this season, scoring just one goal in 31 appearances in all competitions as Chelsea have spent the majority of their Premier League title defence mired in the bottom half of the table.
Zidane is a long-time admirer of Hazard and, as reports continue to link him with a summer move to Madrid, the Belgium international says the respect is mutual.
"It's always nice to hear that a player that I admired during my childhood talks about me," Hazard told Belgian website Sudinfo.be.
"I always liked Zidane. Now I know the player by heart but don't know the coach at all, even if he's started very well at the Bernabeu. I'm also still under contract at Chelsea and I feel very good there."
Asked if he would like Zidane to coach him one day, Hazard added: "Yes of course. When I was little, I watched him on television and the internet for hours. I talked Zidane and I ate Zidane. But, and I repeat it, I feel very good at Chelsea so it's not news."
Hazard established himself as the outstanding player in the Premier League during Chelsea's title-winning season, registering 14 goals and nine assists as he claimed all of the top individual awards in England last term. The former Lille star said he still harbours ambitions of winning the FIFA Ballon d'Or despite the struggles of this campaign.
"It's not because I'm coming out of four more delicate months that I'm not going to think about it any longer," Hazard said. "It's still an aim. Beyond that, if it comes, it's great. If it doesn't, it's no big deal. Some very good footballers have never won it."
Hazard signed a new long-term contract at Stamford Bridge 12 months ago that commits him to Chelsea until June 2020.
