Premier League team news: Updates on injuries and suspensions

SATURDAY'S GAMES

- ASTON VILLA

Remi Garde is facing a striker crisis with Jordan Ayew banned for the next three games. The forward was sent off in the 2-0 defeat at West Ham on Tuesday and starts his suspension against Norwich on Saturday. Fellow strikers Libor Kozak and Rudy Gestede are also out with Kozak expected to be sidelined for a month after a minor fracture to his ankle but Gestede (hamstring) could return next week. Ashley Westwood (calf) may be available but Carlos Sanchez (hamstring), Adama Traore (foot) and Jordan Amavi (knee) are all out.

Provisional squad: Guzan, Bunn, Hutton, Bacuna, Okore, Clark, Richards, Lescott, Richardson, Cissokho, Westwood, Gana, Lyden, Calder, Veretout, Gil, Grealish, Sinclair, Agbonlahor.

- NORWICH

Alex Tettey must serve a ban after the Norwegian collected his 10th yellow card in the midweek defeat to Tottenham. Winger Robbie Brady is expected to be available again following illness, but midfielder Graham Dorrans is still struggling to shake off a bug. Midfielder Gary O'Neil has now completed a three-match ban following his dismissal at Stoke, while striker Patrick Bamford will be in the squad for the first time since signing on loan from Chelsea ahead of the transfer deadline.

Provisional squad: Rudd, Olsson, Bassong, Klose, Pinto, Mulumbu, Howson, Brady, Hoolahan, Naismith, Bamford, Ruddy, Jarvis, Odjidja-Ofoe, Mbokani, Redmond, Martin, O'Neil.

- LIVERPOOL

Midfielder Joe Allen is expected to overcome a shoulder injury to be available for the visit of Sunderland. Strikers Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi and playmaker Philippe Coutinho all returned to training but will not be available until next week's FA Cup replay at West Ham at the earliest. Defender Martin Skrtel has suffered a minor setback in his rehabilitation from a hamstring problem and will be out for a further two to three weeks.

Provisional squad: Mignolet, Clyne, Lovren, Sakho, Moreno, Can, Henderson, Allen, Milner, Firmino, Lallana, Ward, Flanagan, Toure, Lucas, Ibe, Teixeira, Benteke.

- SUNDERLAND

Yann M'Vila was unable to train on Thursday as a result of a foot problem picked up after a challenge by Manchester City's Sergio Aguero, although he is less of a doubt than Jeremain Lens, who is nursing a groin injury. Central defender Younes Kaboul will return to the squad after recovering from a hamstring problem which has sidelined him since before Christmas, but midfielder Sebastian Larsson (knee) is still out.

Provisional squad: Mannone, Pickford, Van Aanholt, Yedlin, O'Shea, Kaboul, Jones, Kone, Kirchhoff, Cattermole, M'Vila, Khazri, Lens, Borini, Johnson, Rodwell, Toivonen, Defoe, N'Doye, Watmore.

Midfielder Cheick Tiote is available after his proposed move to Shanghai Shenhua fell through, but McClaren will draft under-21s Callum Williams, Liam Gibson and Dan Barlaser into a squad which will also have goalkeeper Tim Krul (knee), defenders Massadio Haidara (also knee) and Kevin Mbabu (thigh), midfielders Vurnon Anita and Gabriel Obertan (both hamstring) and Siem de Jong (eye) and striker Papiss Cisse (groin) missing.

The Northern Ireland international joins compatriot Chris Brunt (calf), James Morrison (hamstring) and Callum McManaman (ankle) on the sidelines. Saido Berahino will be in the squad against the club who had a bid for him rejected before the transfer deadline, although Baggies boss Tony Pulis says the striker is unlikely to start as he continues to build up his fitness.

Wollscheid (calf) was forced off early in that game but Potters boss Mark Hughes -- definitely still without three other defensive options in Ryan Shawcross (back), Geoff Cameron (ankle) and Marc Wilson (knee) -- is hopeful the German might be able to face the Toffees.
