DraftKings secures partnerships with Arsenal, Liverpool and Watford

Daily fantasy sports platform DraftKings has secured partnerships with Premier League teams Arsenal, Liverpool and Watford ahead of planned expansion into the United Kingdom, according to a press release from the company.

U.K. gambling regulators granted a gambling license to DraftKings in August, 2015, while rival site FanDuel applied for a license as a "gambling software" company in November of last year.

In the release, the company's co-founder and CEO, Jason Robbins, said: "The reality in the UK is that DraftKings will bring a totally new experience for sports fans, especially those of Arsenal, Liverpool and Watford. We offer our players the opportunity to test their skill at fantasy contests with the immediacy of daily play.

"Our ambition is to bring players as close to the action as possible, with all the information they need to assemble the best teams. To do that, we are partnering with some of the biggest names in football here in the UK."

DraftKings claims to have 200,000 unique players use its platform to play daily fantasy games involving the Premier League, Champions League and Major League Soccer, making it the biggest daily fantasy soccer provider in the world.
