Arsenal beat Manchester United, Liverpool draw at Everton

Arsenal bounced back from their midweek disappointment to record a 3-0 victory at home to Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday.

Arsenal, facing intense criticism after Tuesday's 3-2 home loss to Olympiakos, set out to answer their critics as they made a blistering start to the match.

They took a deserved lead on six minutes when Mesut Ozil put the ball back for Alexis Sanchez to produce a sublime flick into the net at the near post.

One minute later, it was 2-0, as Ozil rounded off a slick move, firing into the bottom corner from Theo Walcott's assist.

They increased their advantage inside 20 minutes when Walcott sent a ball out wide to Sanchez, who cut inside before smashing a shot into the top corner.

Aaron Ramsey passed up a golden chance to make it four on 34 minutes when he missed the target with a sidefooted finish with only goalkeeper David De Gea to beat.

Anthony Martial had the chance to reduce the deficit just before the break, but Petr Cech -- back in the team after being rested against Olympiakos -- blocked his shot with his boot.

United continued to threaten in the second half, with Wayne Rooney seeing a decent low shot saved, but they were unable to find a way back into the game as Arsene Wenger's men recorded a resounding victory.

Everton and Liverpool both had chances to win the Merseyside derby but ended up sharing the points in a 1-1 draw.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers travelled to Goodison Park under pressure after disappointing recent results, but his side made a positive start, with Danny Ings and James Milner having early chances.

They needed goalkeeper Simon Mignolet to produce a pair of excellent saves to deny Steven Naismith and James McCarthy midway through the half, but they took the lead when Ings was left free to head home direct from a corner on 41 minutes.

However, that advantage was cancelled out before the half-time whistle, with Romelu Lukaku seizing on some poor defending to fire home from close range.

That seemed to give Everton the greater momentum at the start of the second half, and Ross Barkley and Romelu Lukaku had chances but could not take advantage.

That set up a frantic, end-to-end finale, but neither side was able to add to the scoresheet as the match ended all square.

Christian Eriksen scored with two free kicks as Tottenham Hotspur drew 2-2 at Swansea City.

Swansea went ahead when Andre Ayew headed home from Jefferson Montero's cross, but Spurs were level on 27 minutes when Eriksen fired home his first.

Parity lasted just four minutes, though, as Spurs striker Harry Kane inadvertently turned a Jonjo Shelvey corner into his own net.

With just over an hour played, Eriksen netted his second, sending another free kick past keeper Lukasz Fabianski from an almost identical position.
