Manchester United held by Newcastle, Tottenham denied, Bournemouth win

Manchester United remain unbeaten in the 2015-16 Premier League season but were held to a goalless draw in their meeting with Newcastle United at Old Trafford.

Bastian Schweinsteiger made his first competitive start for United but was unable to inspire the club to three points as striker Wayne Rooney again failed to find the back of the net.

Rooney did have an early strike ruled out for offside but thereafter Louis van Gaal's men struggled to create and when they did Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul was there to ensure of an away draw.

Tottenham again failed to hold on to a lead as Leicester's impressive start to the season continued in a game that ended 1-1 at the King Power Stadium.

Dele Alli came off the substitutes' bench to break the deadlock for Spurs when he headed in at the far post from Nacer Chadli's delivery.

Leicester, though, equalised within seconds as Riyad Mahrez curled home a wonderful strike for Claudio Ranieri's men.

Callum Wilson scored a hat trick to clinch Bournemouth's first win in the Premier League as they beat West Ham 4-3.

Wilson opened the scoring on 11 minutes at Upton Park as he coolly finished from Simon Francis' cutback.

The striker then doubled Bournemouth's lead as he made West Ham pay for sloppy defending, pouncing on a loose ball and firing home.

But West Ham rallied in the second half with Slaven Bilic's men pulling a goal back thanks to a Mark Noble penalty after a foul by Josh King.

And it was 2-2 on 53 minutes as Cheikhou Kouyate pounced following a save by goalkeeper Artur Boruc.

Bournemouth regained their lead through Marc Pugh, who curled a shot past goalkeeper Darren Randolph.

The visitors put the game beyond their opponents through hat trick hero Wilson, who converted from the penalty spot after Carl Jenksinon was sent off for a foul on Max Gradel.

In a roller-coaster game, the Hammers pulled a goal back through Modibo Maiga but it was too little, too late from the home team.

Norwich City and Stoke City played out a 1-1 draw as Xherdan Shaqiri made his debut for Mark Hughes' side.

Shaqiri did not take long to make an impact as his free kick found the head of Mame Diouf, who opened the scoring on 11 minutes.

Norwich hit back before half-time through Russell Martin, with the defender slotting in from Nathan Redmond's delivery.

Sunderland battled back for their first point of the season with Jermain Defoe salvaging a 1-1 draw against Swansea City at the Stadium of Light.

Swansea broke the deadlock just before half-time when Bafetimbi Gomis latched on to Kyle Naughton's through ball for his third goal in as many games.

Struggling Sunderland finally had something to celebrate as Defoe got on the end of Jeremain Lens' cross to make it 1-1.

Bakary Sako scored the winner on his Crystal Palace debut as Alan Pardew's men beat Aston Villa 2-1 at Selhurst Park.

After a goalless first half, Scott Dann put Palace 1-0 up on 71 minutes when he headed in Jason Puncheon's corner.

But Villa responded as an own goal from Pape Souare made it 1-1 after new signing Adam Traore caused problems having just come on a substitute.

Palace secured the three points thanks to Sako's late winner as he guided into the corner.
