Gerard Deulofeu is a doubt for Everton's opening game of the Premier League season, Roberto Martinez has confirmed.
Deulofeu, 21, signed a permanent deal with Everton following a successful spell on loan at Goodison Park from Barcelona during the 2013-14 campaign.
The Spain international injured his hamstring during the Barclays Asia Trophy tournament in Singapore in July, and Martinez says that the Toffees' home game against Watford on Saturday could be too soon for the forward to return.
"He's already working at 60 percent so I don't expect him to be too far away," Martinez told reporters. "Maybe the weekend will be too early for him."
John Stones and Kevin Mirallas are also doubts to face Watford after both picked up injuries in Duncan Ferguson's testimonial against Villarreal on Sunday.
