Morgan Schneiderlin earns Man United win; Man City beat Melbourne City

Morgan Schneiderlin marked his first appearance for Manchester United with the winner as Louis van Gaal's side beat Club America 1-0 in Seattle.

Named in the starting lineup along with fellow new signings Matteo Darmian and Memphis Depay, it took just five minutes for Schneiderlin to get on the score sheet, when he rose at the far post to float a header from Juan Mata's cross beyond Hugo Gonzalez in the Club America goal.

Bastian Schweinsteiger came off the bench for his United debut, while Real Madrid target David De Gea missed the game due to a "minor injury," according to Louis van Gaal.

Arsenal won the Barclays Asia Trophy after a 3-1 victory over Everton in the final at Singapore's National Stadium in front of 52,107 spectators.

The Frenchman struck with an 86th-minute volley from a Jesus Navas cross as the Premier League runners-up made it back-to-back wins on their preseason tour of Australia.

Yaya Toure hit the bar with a first-half free kick while Nasri and Navas came close with a series of shots before the Frenchman finally broke the deadlock, although Melbourne midfielder Stefan Mauk missed an open goal as the A-League team also had their chances.

Roma and Real Madrid also met in Melbourne in the International Champions Cup, but could only play out a 0-0 draw. Roma eventually ran out the winners after a penalty shootout, 7-6.

Bayern Munich made light work of fellow Champions League qualifiers Valencia, running out 4-1 winners.

Thomas Muller put the German champions in front after 16 minutes, but the lead only lasted 11 minutes when Rodrigo levelled. Muller scored his second of the game on the stroke of half-time to restore the advantage.

And Pep Guardiola's team put the polish on the scoreline after the interval as Thiago Alcantara and Robert Lewandowski completed a convincing victory.

Liverpool and Arsenal target Alexandre Lacazette provided the winner as Lyon defeated AC Milan 2-1.

Lyon opened the scoring through Nabil Fekir in the 24th minute and Milan had to wait for the 75th minute for Andrea Poli to equlise, but Lacazette found the net just five minutes later.

Iker Casillas made his debut in net for Porto as his new team defeated Duisburg 2-0. Casillas managed a scoreless first half before being subbed out at the break.

Yacine Brahimi opened the scoring in the 61st minute before Hernani doubled the advantage three minutes later.

Southampton got their preseason trip to the Netherlands off to a winning start with a 3-0 win against FC Groningen.

Jose Fonte, Sadio Mane and Graziano Pelle were all on target as the Saints cruised to victory in front of a crowd of more than 12,000 against manager Ronald Koeman's first club.

Fonte headed the opening goal in the 24th minute, Mane steered home an easy finish after a sweeping move to make it 2-0 in the 52nd minute and substitute Pelle struck a third after being set up by Dusan Tadic.

Southampton face Dutch fourth-tier side KVV Quick 1920 on Tuesday evening and sign off their mini-tour with a game against Koeman's former club Feyenoord on Thursday.

West Ham United's busy summer continued as they took a break from the Europa League qualifiers to travel to Southend United. Kevan Hurst put Southend in front in the 20th minute, but within 10 minutes the Hammers were in front thanks to a brace from new signing Dimitri Payet.

Jack Payne then levelled the scores again only for Luke Prosser's own goal to give West Ham a 3-2 win.

League One side Peterborough surprised Tottenham with a 3-2 upset of the Premier League side.

Joe Gormley and Conor Washington spotted Posh to a two-goal lead, but Shayon Harrison and Ismail Azzaoui brought Spurs back level with nine minute to play.

But it was Peterborough who found the winner through Kyle Vassell in the 88th minute.

A Brown Ideye goal, eight minutes from full-time, earned West Brom a 2-1 presason win at Charleston Battery.

Tony Pulis' side took the lead just before half-time through Saido Berahino, only to be pegged back 12 minutes into the second half by the third tier side, who levelled through Navion Boyd.

Swansea City completed their tour of Germany with a 2-1 win over 1860 Munich.

Jack Cork gave the Welsh side the lead in the eight minutes, and though Daniel Adlung equalised from the spot, Bafetimbi Gomis found the winner.

After taking the lead through Jack Rodwell after only five minutes, Sunderland slumped to a 3-1 defeat at Pachuca.

AFC Bournemouth continued their preparation for their first season in the Premier League with a 2-1 win at Exeter City. Although they fell behind to a David Wheeler goal in the first half, they made sure of the victory with goals from Dan Gosling and Junior Stanislas after the teams came back out after half-time.

Monaco were held to a goalless draw at Paris FC, who gained promotion to Ligue 2 last season.
