Enes Unal could make debut for Manchester City in Australia

Turkey striker Enes Unal is set to make his Manchester City debut on their preseason tour after flying out to Australia in a squad filled with youngsters.

Unal, 18, who is City's only summer signing so far, is on course to feature in Australia, where City face sister club Melbourne City on July 18 three days after taking on Adelaide United in a closed door game.

The 2013-14 Premier League champions will then take on fellow European clubs Roma and Real Madrid on July 21 and 24 respectively in the International Champions Cup at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Unal made his Turkey international debut this March in a friendly against Luxembourg. He is yet to add to the solitary international cap.

Manuel Pellegrini's group only includes eight members of his regular squad last season -- goalkeepers Willy Caballero and Richard Wright, defenders Gael Clichy and Vincent Kompany and midfielders Yaya Toure, Fernando, Samir Nasri and Jesus Navas.

But they will be joined next week by others, including Joe Hart, Eliaquim Mangala, David Silva and Wilfried Bony, who were granted more time off after they were called up for their countries for the summer internationals.

Attackers Edin Dzeko and Stevan Jovetic, who are both attracting interest from Italian clubs, are scheduled to travel to Australia next week.

The four City players who featured in the Copa America -- the Argentine trio of Sergio Aguero, Pablo Zabaleta and Martin Demichelis plus Brazil's Fernandinho -- will not be involved in preseason games as Pellegrini believes it is important they have 28 days' break in the summer.

So the Chilean has a youthful group at his disposal, including Jason Denayer, who is set to be City's fourth-choice centre-back after winning the PFA Young Player of the Year award while on loan at Celtic last season.

Forward Jose Angel Pozo, who made four first-team appearances last season, and striker Kelechi Iheanacho, who has proved prolific at youth level, are other notable inclusions.

Besides naming Brandon Barker, Bersant Celina and Pablo Maffeo, who helped City reach the FA Youth Cup final last season, Pellegrini has also picked Argentine midfielder Bruno Zuculini, who was signed in 2014 and loaned out to Valencia and Cordoba last season.

Initial squad: Willy Caballero, Richard Wright, Vincent Kompany, Gael Clichy, Samir Nasri, Fernando, Jesus Navas, Yaya Toure, Jason Denayer, Bruno Zuculini, Pablo Maffeo, James Horsfield, Ellis Plummer, George Evans, George Glendon, Seko Fofana, Manuel Garcia, Bersant Celina, Brandon Barker, Kelechi Iheanacho, Jose Angel Pozo, Enes Unal, Oliver Ntcham, Cameron Humphreys, Angus Gunn.

Joining next week: Joe Hart, Aleksandar Kolarov, Bacary Sagna, Eliaquim Mangala, Jason Denayer, David Silva, Stevan Jovetic, Wilfried Bony, Edin Dzeko, Marcos Lopes.
