Harry Redknapp a 'very bad manager,' says Adel Taarabt

Former Queens Park Rangers boss Harry Redknapp is a "very bad manager," according to Adel Taarabt.

Redknapp resigned as manager of QPR in February after revealing he needs to undergo an operation on his knee.

Chris Ramsey was put in charge at Loftus Road but he was unable to save the club from Premier League relegation.

Taarabt, who recently signed for Benfica, and Redknapp infamously fell out at QPR, after the coach claimed the midfielder was "three stone overweight."

"The biggest mistake QPR made was to sack [former manager Mark] Hughes," Taarabt told The Sun. "I have never worked for a manager at the club as professional as him.

"Every day he was professional. His sessions were amazing and he had respect from every player. You can see the job he has done at Stoke. QPR didn't give him the time and they paid for it.

"After that, Redknapp came and he had experience. But I don't think he has the passion for the game like people think.

"Harry is not a bad person but he is a very bad coach and, for me, a very bad manager."

Taarabt reflected on the time he was left out of the QPR side under Redknapp, adding: "In the end, I was happy when they didn't play me. I said to Harry 'Don't even put me in the squad because I don't want to be playing in that team.'

"I almost hated football. Every day I woke up and didn't want to go to training as I knew it was a disaster.

"People complained all the time. Not just the players, the staff. The guy is manager and I actually think they hated him. How is that possible?

"It was nothing like a Premier League club. I am 100 percent sure there are many clubs in the Championship more organised than QPR."
