The advocacy group Women in Football has logged 55 incidents of sexist abuse and discrimination during the 2014-15 football season.
Here, Press Association Sport outlines the key points of the findings.
A total of 23 of the alleged incidents took place at football grounds on matchdays, four at Premier League games which are being investigated by the Football Association.
Of the reports, 22 are related to social media abuse and threats, with both clubs and Sky Sports News having also blocked individual Twitter accounts following sexist abuse.
Ten of the incidents related to workplace sexism.
Following investigation, a County FA is in a position to charge one non-league club.
The Police are still actively investigating two reports highlighted by WIF.
One employee was removed from their post following disciplinary procedures.
WIF survey in March found that over 66 percent of women employed in the sport had witnessed sexism in the workplace, while over 89 percent said they did not report it for fear of repercussions, or the issue not being taken seriously.
WIF have developed a steward's sexism briefing note, offering all 92 Premier and Sky Bet Football League clubs advice on tackling sexist chants and abuse on matchdays.
