Chelsea dominate as PFA announces Premier League Team of the Year

Chelsea have six representatives in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year, including Player of the Year favourite Eden Hazard.

Belgium international Hazard, who has 18 goals this season, is joined by Stamford Bridge colleagues Diego Costa -- who has 19 -- Nemanja Matic, Gary Cahill, John Terry and Branislav Ivanovic in the lineup, voted for by Premier League players.

That means players from Jose Mourinho's table-topping side, who can take a further step towards the Premier League title with victory at Arsenal on Sunday, make up three of the back four -- the other is former Chelsea player Ryan Bertrand, now at Southampton -- and two of the midfield.

Costa is partnered up front by Tottenham striker Harry Kane, whose outstanding season has seen him score 31 times, including one for England.

Announcing the team on its website, the PFA said of Kane: "Where do you start when it comes to trying to assess the amazing impact this modern-day Roy of the Rovers has made this season?

"After various loan spells and having started the campaign as a 'cup player', Harry has become as important to an evolving Tottenham side as any in the last decade."

It also praised Hazard as maintaining "a level of performance virtually unrivalled in the best league in the world."

Liverpool are represented by midfielder Philippe Coutinho, Arsenal by Alexis Sanchez and Manchester United by goalkeeper David De Gea, whose impressive performances have seen him linked with a move to Real Madrid.

But there is no room for Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas -- the player with more Premier League assists than any other this season -- or Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero, who has netted 21 league goals for the defending Premier League champions.

The PFA, the footballers' union, will announce the winners of the Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards later on Sunday.
