Harry Redknapp: Queens Park Rangers struggling to make step up

Queens Park Rangers boss Harry Redknapp admitted his team have found it difficult in the Premier League after sustaining an eighth straight away defeat.

QPR were beaten 3-1 at Everton after a fine solo effort from Ross Barkley, a heavily deflected Kevin Mirallas free kick and a header from Steven Naismith.

Bobby Zamora got a late consolation for the visitors, but QPR have lost every away game this season and are the only club in the country who are yet to take a point on the road.

Redknapp said: "If I was managing Chelsea, we wouldn't have lost eight games away. We have had tough away games. We have come up from the Championship. It is difficult. Our home form has been good."

Redknapp felt his team made it too easy for Everton to score, adding: "They were poor goals, and that was the problem.

"Until they scored their first goal, I've never felt so comfortable. I thought, 'We've got a big chance here tonight'.

"The first goal, we gave the ball away cheaply. It's a great strike from a fantastic young player, but it took a deflection that certainly changed the direction of the ball.

"Then the second one we gave a silly free-kick away, another deflection and we're 2-0 down at half-time. I don't think we deserved that.

"The crowd was edgy, I thought they played edgy. At half-time, I thought if we could come out and score, at 2-1 the pressure would be on them. Even at 3-1 with 10 minutes to go, they weren't exactly full of confidence."
