Sunderland have been fined 20,000 pounds after admitting an FA misconduct charge arising from their game against Everton earlier this month. The Black Cats were charged with failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion during the game which ended in a 1-1 draw. The Sunderland players were incensed by referee Lee Mason's decision to give a penalty to the Toffees in the 76th minute after Connor Wickham brought down Seamus Coleman in the box. A statement on the FA's website read: "Sunderland have admitted an FA misconduct charge and accepted the standard penalty of 20,000 pounds following their game against Everton on Nov. 9, 2014. "The club was charged for failing to ensure its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion in the 76th minute of the game.'' The penalty award came at a frustrating time for Sunderland after Sebastian Larsson had given them the lead nine minutes earlier at the Stadium of Light. Baines stepped up to make no mistake from the spot and deny the Black Cats victory. But Sunderland's protests had been in stark contrast to the reaction of boss Gus Poyet, who admitted after the match the decision was correct. Poyet said: "I would give it, I need to be honest, if I was on the pitch and I was the referee, I would give it.''
