Juventus coach Max Allegri: Arturo Vidal won't join Man United in January

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri insists that Arturo Vidal will not join Manchester United in January despite continued speculation surrounding his future.

Vidal, 27, was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford throughout the summer though a transfer failed to materialise due to concerns over the Chilean's knee injury and the clubs' inability to agree a fee.

The midfielder was dropped for Juventus' 3-2 win over Roma before the international break due to an early morning altercation outside a night club days before the game, but Allegri says that Vidal remains an important part of the Bianconeri's future.

"The club has been very clear on Vidal," Allegri told BBC World Focus.

"This season Vidal is a Juventus player and I think there's no possibility that in January he'll go to Manchester."

Allegri has enjoyed an encouraging start to his Juventus career, tasting success in all six of his Serie A meetings, and winning over a number of critics who doubted his credentials following a disappointing spell at AC Milan.

The former Rossoneri boss spent two months in London after his sacking and says that he harbours ambitions to one day manage in England.

"What particularly struck me was how good their infrastructures are and the huge enthusiasm that the crowd has," he added.

"I hope, in the future, to have the opportunity to coach in England. I saw some games to try and better understand English football. It's different from the Italian football, it's more fascinating."
