Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has said nobody at the club has discussed a new contract with him, raising the possibility that he could be sold next summer, the Daily Mail has reported.

The England international, whose current deal with the Premier League champions has less than two years remaining, has seen teammates including David Silva, Vincent Kompany and Sergio Aguero sign new deals.

The Mail quoted Hart, 27, as saying: "Anything about a new contract is news to me. I've heard nothing. I've got a year, nearly two years, left on my deal. That is all I am aware of."

The paper said Hart was concerned about the delay in opening talks, with pressure on his place coming from summer signing Willy Caballero.

Hart produced a superb display in the 1-0 midweek Champions League defeat at Bayern Munich, but said he was aware of the competition he faced.

"I can't moan about it and I can't be too happy about it," he said. "It is the situation, and if I want to stay at this club it's going to be the reality forever.

"I appreciate it more than anyone that we now have at least two quality players for every single position, and the goalkeeping department is no different."

"I'm sure he'll get chances to play games, just as I will, and we've got to get on with it."

Meanwhile, City boss Manuel Pellegrini said he was "sure something will be sorted out with Joe."
