Fabio Borini insists he always wanted to stay at Liverpool this summer, while a move back to Italy was never a real possibility.

Borini, who spent last season on loan at Sunderland, was linked with a move away from Anfield in recent months, coming close to a switch to Queens Park Rangers, only for the deal to later collapse.
The striker -- who started his career at Bologna before moving to Chelsea as a youngster -- was also rumoured to have attracted interest from a number of Serie A teams, although he says his intention was to always stick around and fight for a place at Liverpool.
"The transfer market has been like a storm," he told gianlucadimarzio.com. "Now that it's over, I have no problems.
"This summer there has been many rumours. My wish is to play in a top club and Liverpool are a top club so there have never been any real problems. I know my aims and how I can achieve them.
"Staying at Liverpool is one of them. I'm in a big side who try to win each competition. And that is where I want to be."
Borini added: "There was no thought of whether to come back [to Italy] or not. Because I grew in England I don't think of it as to come back home, there isn't a thought of it."
