Hart, Dzeko set for new Man City deals

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini hints that the club have concluded their business in the summer transfer window.

Joe Hart and Edin Dzeko are likely to join the long list of Manchester City players who have signed long-term contract extensions this summer but the Premier League champions have not entered into discussions with Yaya Toure about extending his stay at the Etihad Stadium.

City have given four players five-year deals this week as Eliaquim Mangala joined from Porto and Vincent Kompany, David Silva and Sergio Aguero committed their futures to the club.

Samir Nasri, another who agreed to remain until 2019, and Aleksandar Kolarov had already signed new deals extensions and now goalkeeper Hart and striker Dzeko are set to make it seven members of their squad who have agreed lucrative contracts.

But sources told ESPN that midfielder Toure will be the exception to the rule and City have not made a similar offer to him.

Joe Hart and Edin Dzeko are ready to commit their long-term futures to Man City.

The Ivory Coast international's future was brought into doubt when his agent, Dimitry Seluk, complained the club had not shown his client enough respect by failing to celebrate his birthday during a postseason tour of the United Arab Emirates.

Toure also voiced his unhappiness in interviews with the French press before saying he was happy to stay but, unlike many of his teammates, he has not been handed a new deal and, though Seluk stated in May he wanted a "job for life," the club have made no response.

The former Barcelona player signed a contract extension in 2013, keeping him at City until 2017, but Kompany, Aguero and Silva were all handed longer deals, though they were already tied to the club for another three years.

Manager Manuel Pellegrini insisted Toure is more settled in Manchester now after he was linked with Paris Saint-Germain, saying at a news conference: "I spoke with Yaya and he's very happy. I don't know what happened in the summer.

"Some people talked about his position, but really at this moment he doesn't have any problems. It has passed, it doesn't matter at this moment."

Toure scored 24 goals last season, including 20 in the Premier League, and Pellegrini added: "Of course, he's very important. I hope Yaya can repeat the season he had last season."
