Scott Sinclair hopes tough times over

Scott Sinclair hopes he has put his misfortune behind him after enduring a tough two seasons at Manchester City.

- Ex Files: Manchester City
- 50-50 challenge: Liverpool vs. Manchester City

The winger -- who the Premier league champions are willing to sell -- scored in their 5-1 preseason win over AC Milan in Pittsburgh on Sunday.

But he has struggled since his 6.2 million-pound move from Swansea in 2012, making just two league starts and suffering a blood clot in his shoulder.

Key European club fixtures

French Ligue 1 -- Aug. 8
FA Community Shield: Manchester City vs. Arsenal -- Aug. 10
German Super Cup: Borussia Dortmund vs. Bayern Munich -- Aug. 13
English Premier League -- Aug. 16
Spanish Super Cup: Real Madrid vs. Atletico Madrid -- Aug. 19 and 22
Spanish La Liga/German Bundesliga -- Aug. 23
Italian Serie A -- Aug. 30

He fared little better after being loaned to West Bromwich Albion last season, starting only four league games and failing to score.

Sinclair told the Daily Mail: "As a player you've got to go through the tough times, and the last 18 months have been very, very tough for me.

"Going on loan and getting injured and also having my blood clot the previous year... all I can do is look forward, play what's in front of me and, whenever I get the opportunity, produce and get the goals whenever I can."

Sinclair has been given a chance as City have begun their summer programme without their World Cup players, but his future is likely to lie elsewhere.
