Barcelona to face Tottenham, Roma, Milan in International Champions Cup

Barcelona will return to the United States this summer to take part in the International Champions Cup, with games against Tottenham, Roma and AC Milan.

Ernesto Valverde's side will be predominantly based on the West Coast, with their fixtures taking place in Los Angeles, Dallas and Santa Clara.

The La Liga leaders plan to spend a few days training in Portland before heading to Los Angeles where they will face Premier League side Tottenham at the Rose Bowl on July 28.

From there, they will move on to Texas to take on Italian side Roma, who knocked them out of the Champions League last week, at the AT&T Stadium on July 31.

They will close their mini-tour back in California with a fixture against Serie A giants AC Milan on Aug. 4 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara.

"From the point of view of the global implantation of the Barca brand, the American market is a priority for the club due to the strong growth of football in the country," Barca said on Monday.

"[The tour] puts the club in a position to generate a large number of new supporters and also provides an opportunity to generate additional income, get closer to strategic partners and meet with possible sponsors."

Barca spent last summer on the East Coast, playing Juventus, Manchester United and Real Madrid in New Jersey, Washington and Miami, respectively, as they won the ICC.

However, their time in the U.S. was overshadowed by the speculation surrounding Neymar's future, with the Brazilian eventually moving to Paris Saint-Germain in a world record €222 million deal.

They will hope for a more settled summer this time around, although it's not yet clear how much of the tour the club's big-name players will be able to take part in.

Argentina's Lionel Messi, Uruguay's Luis Suarez and Brazil's Philippe Coutinho are among a number of players in the squad who will hope to be involved in the World Cup final on July 15.

Barcelona's players will all take two to three weeks off after their respective countries exit the World Cup before returning for preseason.
