Barcelona 'will never forget what happened' vs. PSG - Luis Enrique

Barcelona coach Luis Enrique claimed his side's improbable 6-1 Champions League defeat of Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday was "a victory for our faith and belief."

Trailing and wounded from a 4-0 humiliation from the opening leg of the round-of-16 clash in France, Luis Enrique's men were looking to make history and also avoid their earliest exit from the competition in a decade.

An early header from Luis Suarez and an own goal from Layvin Kurzawa halved the deficit by the interval, before a penalty from Lionel Messi five minutes into the second half had the Camp Nou rocking.

However, Edinson Cavani's crucial away goal just after the hour mark looked to have put overall victory in the tie beyond the La Liga leaders.

Neymar, though, netted a superb late free kick with just two minutes to go before levelling the aggregate scores from the penalty spot after Luis Suarez was bundled over in the area -- although the Uruguayan looked to have made the most of Marquinhos' challenge.

With goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen having joined the attack, Neymar lofted the ball into a crowded penalty area in the closing moments of stoppage time.

Sergio Roberto timed his run to perfection as he volleyed past Kevin Trapp and his first goal of the season sparked wild celebrations on the Barcelona bench and in the stands, while PSG watched on in disbelief.

Trying to make sense of the unforgettable match, the former Barca player told his postmatch press conference: "Football is a crazy, unique sport. Children, and adults, here tonight will never forget what happened.

"I dedicate this win to all Barca fans who kept faith in us. We were massively criticised after the first leg.

"We got over the trauma of what happened on Valentine's Day in Paris and we had nothing to lose tonight because we had already lost everything in Paris.

"We made tactical changes and proved we had the quality to turn the situation around."

Enrique, who had recently announced he was to leave Barcelona at the end of the season, continued: "We took risks and we assumed those risks.

"At half-time we spoke about scoring a third and we did, but then Cavani scored.

"Again the players showed their belief, the Camp Nou fans did too. Usually people leave 10 minutes before the final whistle. Nobody left early today.

"We had the evening we all wanted and we are still in the competition."

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu hailed the "historic achievement that will be remembered forever"

He added: "This will give us more energy in the Champions League."
