Luis Enrique rues Barcelona foul before late equaliser: 'We had it in our hands'

Luis Enrique was left frustrated as Barcelona conceded a last-minute goal against Real Madrid to draw a game that he felt they deserved to win.

Luis Suarez's fourth goal in five Clasicos was cancelled out in the 90th minute at Camp Nou by Sergio Ramos, who headed past Marc-Andre ter Stegen from Luka Modric's free kick.

Substitute Arda Turan was guilty of committing the foul in the lead-up to the goal -- which allowed Madrid to maintain their six-point lead over Barca at the top of La Liga -- and it was a moment which disappointed Luis Enrique.

"The instructions were very clear: don't commit fouls, especially when Madrid players have their backs to goal," he said in his postgame news conference.

"But it's easy where we [coaches] are; the people who have it hard are the players. I wouldn't focus on one player [Turan]."

Instead, the Barca coach pointed to missed chances and a missed opportunity as the Blaugrana's run of draws extended to three games in the league, following stalemates against Malaga and Real Sociedad.

"I think we deserved to win this game, that's why there's big disappointment," Luis Enrique added.

"We were able to find our players much more [in the second half], we created chances... We found each other between the lines and we had two clear openings with Neymar and Leo [Messi].

"We had it in our hands, but we couldn't kill it off. I think we deserved it, but that's the way it is and you have to accept how things go.

"[Now there is] a solid leader [at the top of the table] who don't slip up. The only chance we have is to keep winning games and put pressure on them.

"We need to improve, especially at home."
