Marc-Andre ter Stegen wants to remain at Barcelona: 'I'm very happy'

Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen says he wants to remain with the Catalan club despite opportunities to play full-time elsewhere next season.

Ter Stegen is Barcelona's cup keeper, featuring in the Blaugrana's Champions League and Copa del Rey campaigns while Chilean counterpart Claudio Bravo plays in La Liga matches.

The Germany international helped Barca to UCL and Copa crowns last season as part of their historic Treble of titles and has sparked interest from other top clubs with his performances since joining from Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer of 2014.

The 24-year-old Ter Stegen had previously indicated splitting time with Bravo was not in his best interest, but expressed on Wednesday that the competition between keepers is good for him as well as the team.

Ter Stegen told BarcaTV: "I'm very happy here and I want to stay here, with the life I have. It's a lovely place to live.

"You can never relax and you always have to give everything. Both myself and Claudio and Jordi [Masip] want to play and we work week after week to do so.

"I think that this idea is good for the team, too, because we're always ready."
