Adriano back in Barcelona contention as Rafinha hails return to action

Barcelona defender Adriano is back in contention for selection after recovering from a hamstring injury.

The Brazilian, who has not played for Luis Enrqiue's side since February, was ruled out of the squads for the Clasico defeat to Real Madrid and the Champions League first-leg win over Atletico Madrid.

But the club tweeted on Wednesday that he had "received the all-clear from the club's medics and is once again at the disposal of Luis Enrique."

Last month, Adriano activated an option to extend his contract until 2017. The 31-year-old had been due to become a free agent in the summer.

Meanwhile, midfielder Rafinha revealed he had "worked very hard" to return to the first-team picture after coming on as a substitute against Atletico to make his first appearance since suffering an injury in September.

Speaking to reporters after the game, he said: "I trained very hard during the last few months to get back to this level."

Luis Enrique added: "[We thought] we would not have him for the rest of the season. The medics did an excellent job, it's great news."
